Hi families! Here are our activities and videos for today… wow, another week done! You made it!

Sing a song: Teacher Patricia and Teacher Rachel sing the song “Doe A Deer” together!

Science activity: Ezra’s vinegar and baking soda balloon experiment!

  • You will need: an empty bottle, a balloon, vinegar, and baking soda

  • Carefully pour ½ a cup of vinegar into the bottle.

  • Fill the balloon about halfway with baking soda.

  • Put the neck of the balloon all the way over the neck of the bottle without letting any baking soda into the bottle.

  • Lift the balloon up so that the baking soda falls from the balloon into the bottle and mixes with the vinegar. Watch the fizz-inflator at work!

Arts and crafts activity: Sponge paint. When you’re done using a sponge, instead of throwing it out, use it to paint instead!

  • Have your child cut it up into different shapes (fine motor skills!)

  • Practice naming the shapes and counting the sides (math!)

  • Use the sponge as stamps or as a brush during painting.

  • How do they work when they’re really wet? Do they paint differently when they’re dry? How about when they’re slightly damp?

An activity for this weekend: Make a Share and Tell video! As we do every weekend, we’re asking you for a short clip (or pictures or a written answer if sending it to us in video format doesn’t work for you!) for our Share and Tell video. Please try to send it by 2pm on Sunday.

For parents: A message from Elmo’s dad. Elmo’s dad reminds parents to take a moment to themselves in the Sesame Street Parent PSA.

Have a wonderful weekend! We will be getting more information to you about silkworms soon and are planning to bring them to those of you who have opted in sometime next week. Be on the lookout for those emails!
