Hello families!

News: For those who have an instagram we suggest following @phillychildrensmovement for connection to actions that are child appropriate!

Patterns Week 5: Focus for the week: Repeating a pattern to show change over time, accumulation (for example, growing plants, de-stringing beans).

Activity: While engaging in building play, use language to notice the steps your child takes (eg: “I see you’re picking up another block and putting it on top of the red block–you’re doing that over and over again, and it looks like you’re making a tower!”) This is a way you can draw attention to repetition and pattern-making in the context of play.

Video: Teacher Katelyn builds a tower out of blocks and uses pattern language to describe how they are building.
