Hi Redbud Families!

In today’s teacher message, I performed The Goldfish (Let’s Go Swimming) by Laurie Berkener with my house troupe. I hope you enjoy the many comedic antics of our youngest member! Also, yesterday’s video link was not working, but has been fixed, don’t forget to check it out.
This song got me thinking about a movement activity we do at school that can easily be done at home.  It is an active mindfulness exercise in which kids notice how they are moving their bodies and their breath. We pretend to be animals like dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits; children walk and breathe  like the animals across the room.  This focused activity helps kids both get energy out and reset their focus, especially if an adult is doing it with them (or at least starts the game with them).
Warmly,
Tyler
