Hi Forest Friend Families,

It’s Teacher Sarah. Today I’d like to talk about helping children get used to masks. While some children might not react to wearing a mask at all, others may need some time to feel safe wearing one and seeing them on their loved ones. Young children rely on reading faces for signals they need to feel safe, like a smile or a familiar look to put them at ease.
To help your children to become more comfortable, you can encourage them to decorate their own mask. Attached is a video of me talking about my feelings around masks and giving guidance to children on how to decorate them.
Best,
Sarah
