Hello Redbud Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and taking care of each other and yourselves. I have been thinking of all of you and how much I miss being at school!

Teacher Message:Today I (along with my kid helpers) sang Wheels on the Bus, another class favorite.

Family Activities:

1. Make Peanut butter playdough.

This is a favorite recipe in my house, as it involves both a sensory activity and a tasty treat! It is a great opportunity to practice the math and fine motor skills Redbuds are working on. As you make it, you can have your little one measure and count the ingredients. Once it is made, practice rolling the dough into balls and worms (popular in the Redbud classroom). And best of all, your child can have a delicious snack afterwards. =) Follow the link for the recipe (to make it a little healthier you can add more milk and less sugar).

2. Listening for instruments.
Play a music or video clip featuring the particular instrument you’d like your child to listen out for. In the Redbud classroom we have listened for instruments like piano, guitar, and violin. Then turn on a song and listen closely.

Warmly,
Tyler, for the Redbud room
