Hi Redbud Families!

In today’s teacher video I built (and rebuilt) a magnatile tower.
The block area in the Redbud classroom is a place where kids learn to build and be creative. It is also a place where they learn resilience and patience. When we build in the classroom we practice strategies to both build structures and navigate the hard moments when our towers get knocked down or they are not exactly what we had in mind. The practice building and rebuilding with blocks provides kids a way to talk through the process of what to do when they are disappointed. This may require a lot of adult support and modeling at the beginning, but eventually you will hear your children internalizing those coping strategies and messages, “Oh no! I have to build it again!”
